FA Bans Diego Costa for 3 matches after stamping Liverpool defender twice

Spain striker Diego Costa has been giving a 3 match ban after alleged stamp on Liverpool defender Emre Can.

The 3 match ban was giving by the English Football Association.

Diego Costa clashed with the Liverpool defender while challenging for the ball during the Capital One second leg game at Stamford Bridge.

The 26 year old lost his appeal and his 3 match ban will take effect immediately.

Diego Costa will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after a charge of violent conduct against him was found proven by an Independent Regulatory Commission on Friday 30 January 2015.
The Chelsea forward had denied the charge in relation to an on-field incident involving Liverpool's Emre Can which occurred in the 12th minute of the League Cup semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday 27 January 2015.
The incident was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.

However,Diego Costa will miss the matches against the Champions Manchester City as well as Aston Villa and Everton.

Saudi Arabia names Prince Salman as the new King of Saudi Arabia


Just after the death of King Abdullah,Saudi Arabia has made one of King Abdullah's younger brothers,Crown Prince Salman the new King of Saudi Arabia.

The 72 year old Salman is one of the dozen sons of Saudi Arabia founder King Abdulaziz.

Salman has served as defense minister,deputy prime minister of Saudi Arabia and a vital U.S. ally in the Middle East, for years.

However,Salman was governor of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, for nearly five decades.

Although there are unconfirmed reports that he may have various health problems.But with Saudi Arabian media tightly controlled by the state, nobody is really sure about his condition is.

Patrick Dempsey's Wife Files for Divorcre After 15 Years Of Marriage


Patrick Dempsey and his wife,Jillian Fink,are set to divorce after 15 years of marriage.

However,Fink filed the divorce papers,After citing conflictable and irreconcilable differences.Fink is also seeking custody of their three children, 12-year-old Talulah Fyfe and 7-year-old twins Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick.

“It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage,Our primary concern remains the well-being of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family’s privacy at this very sensitive time.”

The couple told US weekly.

45 year old Patrick Dempsey who was once married to actress Rocky Parker from 1987 to 1994.

Dempsey was at a racing event in Daytona Beach, FL, when Fink filed for divorce.

Jonathan gets traditional title in Gusau


President Goodluck Jonathan named Garkuwan Manoman Zamfara (the shield of Zamfara farmers).

Goodluck Jonathan was honoured by the Emir of Gusau Alhaji Kabiru Danbaba.

The title, which was in recognition of the President’s contributions to farmers in the state, means “President Goodluck Jonathan is the shield of farmers in Zamfara.’’

The Emir hailed President Jonathan for appointing Retired Gen.Aliyu Gusau as Minister of Defence and Alhaji Bashir Yuguda, the Minister of State for Finance, among others, in his administration.

However,President Jonathan said if he is re-elected, he would continue to support farmers and farming activities in the state.

President Goodluck Jonathan visits Maiduguri


President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday paid a visit to the troubled northeast,which is in the grip of intensifying Boko Haram violence that threatens next month's election.

President who arrived at Maiduguri shortly before 3:00 pm (1400 GMT) was welcomed by the state Governor Kashim Shettima.

He was accompanied by the chief of defence staff,Air Marshal Alex Badeh,military top brass,the national security advisor and about 200 soldiers.

However,It was a suprising and unexpected visit.

Jonathan also made plans to visit the remote town of Chibok,also in Borno,after Boko Haram militants kidnapped 276 girls from their school in a crime that left the world in shock.

Yaya Toure crowned African Player of the Year 2014


Ivorian star Yaya Toure has been named the African Player of the Year 2014 by the Confederation of African Football at an awards ceremony held in Lagos on Thursday evening.

The Manchested City star won the title for a fourth time beating in a row.

Yaya Toure beat Vincent Enyeama and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to emerge the Africn Footballer of 2014.

Nigeria produced the African Women Player award, Africa Youth Player of the Year as well as the National Team of the Year.

Toure who won the African best player in 2011, 2012 and 2013 was called up to the podium again winning the award for a record fourth time.

He told media that he felt 'lucky' to win it considering the size of the competition.

However,Vincent Enyeama and Ahmed Musa also made it into CAF Team of the Year.

Valdes agrees two-year deal with Manchester United


Manchester United have agreed a 2-year deal with former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes.

Valdes has been training with the Red Devils outfit for the past two months as a free agent.

Although,Manchester United have not announced their deal with Victor Valdes.

Valdes arrival at the Old Trafford will provide competition for David De Gea, who has been in excellent form for the Red Devils this season and Anders Lindegaard will be on his way out of Old Trafford.

However,De Gea has not signed a contract extension with Manchester United yet,meanwhile Real Madrid are keen to sign De Gea him as a long-term replacement for Iker Casillas.

Vincent Enyeama emerges Goal.com Nigeria player of the year 2014 award

Super eagles goalkeeper and captain Vincent Enyeama has emerged Goal.com Nigeria Player Of The Year 2014 just days after he was voted the number one goalkeeper in the Ligue 1.

The 32 year-old was voted the best Nigerian footballer for the year 2014 by the famous sporting platform Goal.com.

Vincent Enyeama who plays for Lille emerged Goal.com Nigeria Player Of The Year 2014 by beating the likes of Ahmed Musa, Obafemi Martins, Mfon Udoh and Ikechukwu Uche.
